Gwynnie's blog's called Goop and it's basically about her sharing her life experiences with us so that we can live the best lives possible. She writes: "My life is good because I am not passive about it [...]. I have figured some things out in the process and I would like to share them with you [...]. Make your life good." Hello?! What does Gwyneth know about living life? "Life" has been presented to her on a silver platter since she was a kid.
If you want to imagine what it would be like to get hate mail, then read some of the comments people have written about Goop. Thicken your own skin by putting yourself in her shoes for a moment. The public's bitter, accusing Gwyneth of living a fantasy life of travel, and wining and dining that the ordinary mortal person could never experience. Who is she to give everyday advice? Drop dead, some have even suggested.
I tend to agree. How can we take advice from someone who doesn't really know what it's like to struggle- who's never really had to overcome anything? Isn't "advice" best given by a person who's wise; and isn't one's ability to be "wise" something that's earned through experience, from learning the best way to do things- from overcoming difficulties? Come on Gwyneth! You're not wise and you're not the person to be giving advice.
But you present us with another problem too. You've got a cool bob haircut at the moment, and I'm wondering, since you're such a patronizing pain in the neck right now, is it still possible for us to like your hair...?
Your classic bob (that's somewhat concave in shape) makes you stand out from the "bob craze." Even though it's technically a better style for oval, heart, round and triangular face shapes, it still looks good. There are nice sliced ends giving the impression of soft layers and texture, and it's been finished well with a blow-dryer and a large radial brush- and probably ruffled using a molding cream.
But you're still a pain in the neck, and you know what, I just can't get that excited about your hair because you're such a pain in the neck. There's no doubt your bob's a great hairstyle, but it's hard to say it makes you "gorgeous" and "irresistible." And I'm not the only one feeling it either- everyone's appreciating your cool hairstyle but not frothing at the mouth about you. And it's not because of the hairstyle itself- that's great- it's because of your patronizing personality.
So adjust your attitude Gwyneth- chill out a bit- and it won't cloud people's appreciation of other things about you. If you've got great hair and a bad attitude, your hair's wasted; I suppose there's a lesson for all of us in Gwynnie's bob haircut...
