Your Personal Hair Consultation
This Hair consultation is based on your personal preferences.
When you are deciding on a new hairstyle there are lots of important factors to consider. A golden rule is this: hairstyles are predominately about shape and geometry. They should minimize non-pleasing attributes while promoting and complimenting pleasing ones. After that is achieved, the hairstyle is brought to life with texture and colors.
A good hairstylist will know instinctively what hairstyle will suit you best, but it's also good for you to understand the suitability of hairstyles too. That way you'll learn what works for you and what doesn't, and you'll be able to communicate your ideas better with your stylist.
Current Hairstyle: Straight Long | New Hairstyle: Straight Medium
A safe way of changing your look without losing all your length is to have it
cut to your shoulders. This length is considered by most experts to be ideal.
You can wear it down (and still have body), up, or tied back. Just remember
that if you want to tie your hair back from your face, don't layer-cut the
side sections too short. Medium length straight hair can be styled in various
ways, including natural drying, blow-drying, and scrunch-drying techniques
that require different maintenance levels. When you fill out the consultation
form, make sure that you choose the correct hairstyling time that you have
available. And make sure you get some other opinions about your new hairstyle
from family or friends first. You should consider sharing your new virtual hairstyles with your family/friends to get some valuable feedback from other
members (and visitors) of this website. You then have the option of printing,
emailing, or saving your favorites to your mobile phone to show to your
hairstylist and/or family and friends.
Finding a style that suits your face shape and attributes is essential, and
when choosing a new hairstyle you must keep in mind the styles that will work
with your lifestyle, your specific time maintenance factors, and your styling
ability. This consultation will find the best styles that satisfy all of these
important factors.
Medium Texture Hair
Most of the hairstyles in TheHairStyler.com library will suit your hair
texture. With medium texture hair you probably won't need to worry about
changing your hair's texture too much. If you would like less hair, you should
take a look at razor-cut styles. On the other hand, if you would like to
thicken your hair, consider blunt cutting and minimum graduation cuts. Finding
a style that will work with your hair texture is just as important as finding
a style to suit your face shape.
Thick Hair
Having lots of hair is not a problem. You can reduce thick hair by
using techniques like razor-cutting or slicing- but we don't recommend these
for curly hair. If your hair is curly, chemical straightening will take away
about 50% of your hair density. Finding a style that will work with your hair
texture is just as important as finding a style to suit your face shape.
Complexion: Fair-Warm
Your complexion coloring is warm. This quite simply means that
colors that have a warm overtone will look natural and much better on you.
There are some exceptions to this rule, for instance, when combinations of
warm and cool colors can be used together for contrast or specific purposes,
but this should be left to the care of highly trained hair colorists only. It
is very important that you stay within the boundaries of the warmer side of
the color spectrum, for this is where nature has naturally placed you. Warm
colors are made mostly of red, orange, and yellow. Hair colors that are warm
that are made up of combinations of these tones include: copper chestnut
(red), copper blonde (orange), and warm brown (yellow).
Skin Tone Suitability: Warm/Warm - Hair Color Overtone: Cool (Neutral)
You have selected
black
as your current hair
color. This color will suit both warm and cool complexion types, making it a
neutral tone. As a rule, you should stick to your complementary colors (warm)
when choosing any hair color change. This will minimize any hair color
mistakes and disappointments. When trying on a new color from the THS color
chart, you will see a warm or cool symbol next to the color name indicating
whether the color is a warm (red) or a cool (blue) overtone. The color chart
will help make your new hair color choice much easier.
Eye Color
While eye color only plays a complementary role when choosing the most suitable hair color for you, a hair color that features the same tones or contrasts with your eyes can enhance your hair color.
Height: Short/Average
Although your height isn't really that important, it should still be
considered when choosing a new hairstyle. For shorter people wishing to appear
a little taller, look at hairstyles that create more height on top- but make
sure they will still balance the proportions of your face shape. The ideal
height for females is 5'4" - 5'5" or about eight heads tall. For men it's
5'9" - 6'1".
Average Build
Long Neck
If you have a long neck and you're looking for a style to hide it, choose something longer at the neck. Avoid styles that are too short, or upswept at the nape. This consultation will help you find the right kind of style.

Just as there is an ideal face shape, there are also ideal proportions for the body. Being in the middle, or medium size, is great because you can have large or small looking hairstyles.
