Excuse #1: I Live a Busy Lifestyle and can't Find Time
It sure is busy; I can't seem to find the time to get all the things done that I need to in one day. I probably need about 48 hours in a day as opposed to 24, but you know what, that still wouldn't work because then I would try and cram more into a day and need 54 hours. Where do we draw the line? We need to prioritize our time and start doing the important things first and then in that order. Having time for a new hairstyle is important. It will make you feel better for a start and you should make it your "time out"! You are missing out here, big time.
Solution: You need to re-prioritize yourself and time to include hairstyling as your "time out." Make the time!
Excuse #2: I Have More Important Things to Do
We all have important things to do all of the time including any spare time that we have. Still, some people seem to find the time to go to the salon for some R & R. Perhaps you are not real big on small talk or sitting around with wet hair when you have about 20 other things that you could be doing. Aren't there always about 20 things that need doing? Over the years I have had the pleasure of performing hairstyle services for all different types of people and personalities. There were the clients that just wanted to chat and tell you all of their problems, to the ones that just wanted to sit quietly read a magazine and have a cup of coffee. The one thing that they all had in common was that they used this time (salon hairstyle time) as their time out from their usually busy lifestyle and daily commitments. There is a genuine therapy that occurs when you visit a salon and stylist that you are comfortable and familiar with. Also, another bit of therapy that occurs is simply when your hairstylist runs their comb and fingers through your hair that creates massaging movements. And then, let's not forget the wonderful head massage you should get at the shampoo chair.
Solution: Having your hair done is important; it's your "time out" and therapeutic time. You need to make the time and then relax and enjoy the experience.
Excuse #3: I Would Like to Make the Time, but...
There is a saying that goes "timing is everything". Isn't this true? Think about it, isn't that what good luck is supposed to be when you are in the right place at the right time? Funny thing time, it's the same for everyone the world over yet some people find the time to sit down relax and enjoy a hairstyle service along with a lot of other things. Is it that these people just don't take care about all the things that you attend to and leave you out of time? Or are these people just better at organizing and prioritizing and then managing their time? I will tell you that most of them are just good at managing their time. Over the years I have employed quite a number of hairstylists, and I can tell you that each and every one of them was given the same amount of time, space assistance and tools to perform their job. I can divide these employees up into 3 even groups, the first that just barely got through their work, always running late working under some degree of pressure. The second group got things done on time, while the last group did up to 3 times as much work. Sure they were motivated but not more than the first group in my opinion. They were just able to make better use of their time even though they had the same amount of time and help as their peers.
To organize your time better you could begin by keeping a diary and write down in point form what you plan to do for the day. Now as you move through your day, tick off the list. You will be surprised how much more you will achieve when you have a plan and map to get you where you are going. Oh, and don't try and over do it.
Solution: You need to create a point form list of things that require doing and then mark them off as you go. This will help you to organize your time better and then to make it to the salon for your relaxing time.
Having the right attitude and approach about making time for your salon hairstyling visits is one of the best and most rewarding things that you can do for yourself, your well being and your hair. So, go on, give these solutions and go. It's your time out so relax and enjoy it.
