The festive season is here and we all know what that means... P-A-R-T-Y! Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, it's the end of the year so parties and celebrations abound- office parties, end of year festive celebrations and the big one- New Year's Eve- are all reasons to get dolled up and party the night away.
The great thing about festive hairstyles is that you can really go all out and still not look overdone. Sparkly hair accessories, glitter - you name it, you can probably pull it off this season as long as it is in the festive spirit. So without further delay, here are some fabulous festive hairstyle ideas for this winter.
Riley Keough looks oh-so-festive in these tumbling copper waves! This is a fantastic style for a big night out and it's relatively easy to do if you have a large curling wand at home. Simply blow dry your hair and add a deep side part. Then create small sections in your hair and spray them with a light hold hairspray before wrapping the sections around the curling wand. This will keep your curls separated and help them stay in place - a must when you have hair this long! Riley has swept one side behind her ear but you can go a step further and twist the side with less hair around the nape of the neck and pin it in place. Try an eye-catching hair clip for an extra dose of glam!
If you want to wear an up-do to your Christmas or NYE party, forget the buns and chignons and go for this ultra cool rolled hairstyle. You can look like a modern day French courtier by creating two French rolls on either side of your part and pinning them to the head. Leave the back of your hair down and add large ringlets to the ends, or tie it in a low side ponytail for a different look. Either way, this is one hairstyle that will turn heads at any party!
Ok, we said forget the buns but this one is an exception! Paz Vega looks stunning in this slicked back hairstyle with a high bun and side-swept bangs. This is a great hairstyle option to pair with a little black dress and some fabulous makeup. Try Paz's theatrical smoky eye shadow and cherry red lipstick for a stunning NYE or Christmas party look.
Here's another idea - why not try an 'old world' braid? This look is set to be one of the hottest hairstyles of 2014, so get a head start and flaunt this 'do to see out 2013! Start by creating a bouffant in the fringe and crown area like Selena Gomez has done here, before sweeping it back into a high ponytail. Then, create a messy fishtail braid that sits to one side. Add hairpieces to your ponytail to make it extra thick!
Or, if you prefer the classic party hair, then get yourself an awesome blowout and add ringlets throughout the lengths and ends with a curling iron or rollers.
Whatever hairstyle you choose to flaunt this festive season, make sure to wear some fabulous makeup to match and of course, a killer outfit!
